When establishing “What is wellness and fitness?”. It would be beneficial to be mindful that fitness is a concept covered by the wellness ‘banner’. Fitness is a description best suited to one’s physical conditioning. Fitness specifically refers to the physical aspect whilst the term wellness covers the broad range of beneficial circumstances within one’s life.
Fitness is a description of physical conditioning. It is fair to say that a better level of fitness may directly be attributed to better levels of wellness. So even though fractions are calculations covered by the title mathematics it would seem fair to conclude that if one has a grasp of fractions they would make a better mathematician. This also applies to fitness and subsequently wellness.
So why would fitness improve a sense of wellness?
Via the advent of scientific findings on this matter. We can determine that a fit well well-exercised person can gain numerous positive effects from keeping that body moving. Provided exercise is performed in a healthily moderated and balanced way one can feel confident of receiving the following benefits.
- Help to assist with mood
- weight loss benefits
- Good for the body down to a cellular level
- Disease prevention
- Improved complexion
- Cognitive benefits
- Prevent the signs of aging
- Better sleep patterns
- longer life
So how may exercise improve the mood
The wellness to be achieved via optimum weight
It is a rather commonly held perception that exercise is beneficial in the reduction of any given excess bodily weight. Extra weight may be stored in the form of fatty tissue or fluids. Exercise effectively reduces the build-up of weight in the body by making better use of the food consumed.
Just say a given individual was consuming more food than their body could transfer into energy. Then these excess foods and fluids may be stored by the body in certain areas causing weight gain and possibly fluid retention. These are things that we can counteract by actively pursuing healthy exercise activities.
So with the scientifically proven benefits of exercise, there are many grounds to positively affirm a healthy exercise schedule. With improved mood etc we will be the most confident, happiest, longest-living version of ourselves. A living example of how exercise can be of great benefit for all.
“I’m too busy and can’t afford the gym” someone may say
Even though we have investigated the varied benefits of fitness there may be circumstances, within the given individual’s life, that prevent healthy fitness. I’d say we need to evaluate these reasons and make sure they are just not merely excuses. There are many forms of beneficial exercise so a gym certainly is not the only means.
A healthy exercise regimen may be established via simple, cost-free, means at home or in the general community. With the availability of so much information these days. Given there is a will to engage in healthy exercise there certainly is a way.
Procrastination on this idea may act as a barrier too. Procrastination is a form of laziness that many of us may share from time to time. So now is the time to investigate the many ways in which we may become involved in a healthy exercise routine. Not only for our benefit but also for the benefit of the people in our lives.
Wellness in a nutshell
This is a concept that I’d prefer to explain via the teachings I’ve received. This will be my way of keeping the information as authentic as I know how.
Wellness is a broad term that covers all results derived from the actions of the body, speech, and mind. A happy, well-balanced, approach to these actions will in turn provide a sense of wellness and make getting up in the morning a joy. This sense of wellness then pervades into the relationships we have. People are going to notice that you’re feeling and looking well with a balanced state of mind. This will provide numerous benefits in many aspects of ‘one’s’ life.
Wellness of the body is the fitness aspect. Wellness of speech is things like no lying, gossip, or divisive speech. Wellness of mind is a balanced, mindful, and compassionate intention that would see us doing everything for the right reasons.
Avoiding or actively reducing the amount of stress in our lives is a tangible means of increasing a sense of well-being. Whether it’s the stress of non-beneficial environmental circumstances or the stress on the body due to toxic things put into it. I’m hoping we may agree on the “stress less” means of assisting with a stable sense of wellness in our lives.
“You are what you eat”
Another vitally important aspect of wellness and fitness is the dietary habits of the individual. It’s logical to say that if one is involved in a healthy exercise regimen but doesn’t eat and drink the right things to support the body. That exercise may then provide a significantly less amount of benefit to the body via not receiving what it needs to provide the energy required.
So it’s the old generic adage. “A healthy, well-balanced, diet that includes many fruits and vegetables with balanced amounts of protein and carbohydrates etc”. Tied in with a healthy exercise schedule we should be “good to go”.
So the choice, as a responsible individual, is yours
Now depending on one’s circumstances. I’m a big believer that we can all benefit from really taking some time to consider what wellness is for us and investigate new ways if need be, in which we may be able to improve that sense of wellness and fitness.
I’m enthused by the idea of being able to assist anybody who may be serious about increasing the general feeling of wellness and fitness in their life. So feel free to leave any comments or items that you would like to discuss. Good day.
